Bury manager Alan Knill has signed Gillingham defender Efe Sodje, 35, in a month-long loan deal. Since Knill's arrival a fortnight ago, Bury have picked up by taking four points from the last two games.
But the Shakers boss has now further addressed his team's position just four points and two places above the League Two relegation zone.
Meanwhile, young Bury striker James Dean has become a free agent after agreeing to tear up his contract.
Dean played just five first-team games for the Shakers since joining in the summer, and had spells at Altrincham and Stalybridge Celtic this season.
As for Sodje, his signing marks a return to the North West for the Nigerian centre half having also been at Macclesfield and Crewe.
