New Bury manager Alan Knill has revealed the club sought him out to replace Chris Casper at Gigg Lane. The former Chesterfield assistant told BBC Radio Manchester: "They approached Chesterfield for permission to speak to me - they wanted me.
"That's fantastic for me. They want all the same things I want and I definitely have an affinity with the town.
"It sounds corny but it's always one of the results I look for because I enjoy the town and the people."
