Burton Albion's Darren Moore managing his knee problem

Veteran Burton Albion centre-half Darren Moore is confident that the knee injury which has troubled him since pre-season is on the mend.

"I'm nursing a slight knock but I'm managing it really well," the Brewers skipper, 36, told BBC Radio Derby.

"At the moment it's good because the games are just on a Saturday.

"The whole idea is to get on top of it and by the time the midweek games start coming I'll be over it. I feel great on a Saturday and long may it continue."

Moore turned down offers from Championship clubs in the summer but is convinced he made the right decision in joining the Brewers.

"I've had the two games now and I've been very happy with the progress I've made individually and also collectively as a team," he said.

"It's an honour to be at this football club. I've been really impressed with the lads, and the fans have been great to me."
