Moore joined Burton from Barnsley in the summer

Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido says veteran centre-half Darren Moore may need to be rested between matches this season.

Moore has been named as club captain for the new campaign.

But Peschisolido told BBC Radio Derby the 36-year-old cannot be expected to train and play without a rest period.

"He's at an age where we are going to have to monitor him and, perhaps, give him the occasional day off to get him through games," Peschisolido said.

Former Derby, West Brom and Barnsley centre-half Moore takes over as Brewers skipper from Darren Stride, who was released after 17 years with the club in the summer.
