Bristol City's Carey still hoping for play-off spot
Carey has made 482 appearances for Bristol City
Bristol City captain Louis Carey has said the side remains optimistic that they can contend for a Championship play-off spot.
City's form has slumped mid-season and they currently lie 13th in the league, six points off the play-offs.
"In the middle of the table, everyone has a chance of either going up or being dragged into a relegation fight," Carey told BBC Radio Bristol.
"If we put a few games together we still have a chance of the play-offs."
The 33-year-old defender added: "Especially at the moment, the first goal is so important for us.
"For confidence, that is what we need - a couple of first goals."
City had a solid start to the season, losing just three games in the opening four months, but Gary Johnson's side have lost their way since December, taking just 11 points from a possible 36 in the League.
"The confidence comes from winning games and we haven't been winning games at the moment," said Carey.
"But we have worked very hard in training and once we get that confidence back there is no reason we can't fly back up the table."
