Aldershot's Stephen Henderson eager to impress on loan
Henderson is a former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international
New Aldershot goalkeeper Stephen Henderson says he is excited about first team football after spending time on the bench at Bristol City.
The 21-year-old has dropped two leagues to take up a one-month loan deal at the Recreation Ground, having failed to play for City this season.
Henderson told BBC Surrey: "I'm at that point of my career where I need to play, so it's a good chance for me.
"It has been a bit frustrating, and now it's just about doing the best I can."
The move reunites Henderson with central defender Chris Blackburn.
Henderson explained: "I played with Chris at Weymouth for six months so I know him quite well, and we've played a lot of games together so straight a way that's a bonus for me."
Henderson has already played at the Recreation Ground, including for Weymouth at the end of the 2007/2008 season when the Shots finished as champions, and the Terras needed a point to stay up.
"It was a great night and a great atmosphere, and a bit weird. Their emotions were very different to us. It was a brilliant day for both sets of fans," Henderson said.
