Aldershot sign Bristol City keeper Stephen Henderson

Aldershot Town

Aldershot have signed goalkeeper Stephen Henderson from Bristol City on an initial month-long loan.

The 21-year-old failed to make an appearance for the Robins this season.

Manager Kevin Dillon told BBC Surrey: "I've been looking for a keeper for a while, and we've done the deal after paying up Clark Masters' contract."

Henderson, nephew of Preston goalkeeper Wayne Henderson, goes straight into the Aldershot squad for Saturday's League Two trip to Barnet.

Irishman Henderson was a trainee with Aston Villa before joining Bristol City in May 2007.

Dillon added: "He can kick the ball into areas where we can score goals. It was something were lacking. "

Aldershot have also taken former Shrewsbury forward Omer Riza on trial.
