Johnson continued: "You can see why he's very successful in his business and with this football club.
"We've been in this situation before. The year we got into the play-off final we had a couple of really bad defeats and had to lift the troops and get going again.
"It's happened to all managers. Some lose their jobs, some don't and others manage to go on and have a successful spell which is what we're looking to do.
"And it is how you react to the defeats as a football club that matters."
City, who face a trip to Middlesborough on Saturday, are in 11th place in the Championship, six points off the play-offs.
