Bennett has scored eight goals in 45 appearances for Brighton
Brighton boss Gus Poyet is striving to instil a winning mentality in the squad, says winger Elliott Bennett.
Albion secured their League One status for next season with Saturday's 2-1 victory over Bristol Rovers.
Bennett told BBC Sussex: "The gaffer has tried to drill into us that we need to start being winners.
"When you retire you only remember when you've won things. I think we've got to get that feeling to win as many games as we can."
He added: "It doesn't matter how much money you've got in the bank - there's nothing better than winning. Hopefully we can continue to win the next two games and leave this season on a positive note.
"It's a shame we didn't start as well as we ended the season because we could have been looking towards the play-offs. We've just got to look forward to next season."
Brighton go to the MK Dons on Saturday before ending the season at home to Yeovil Town.
