Worthing Thunder coach Dave Titmuss pleased with season
Despite going out to Newcastle in the play-offs, Worthing Thunder head coach Dave Titmuss is pleased with what the club have achieved this season
Thunder finished 8th in the BBL but were beaten 102-74 by League and Trophy champions Eagles.
Titmuss told BBC Sussex: "It's my first year at Worthing and only the club's second in the top league.
"We got to the play-offs and that was our primary goal. We've had an unbelievable season."
He added: "In terms of percentage of wins, we're the second most improved franchise in the country.
"Newcastle are the most heavily resourced team in the country. In the first half we just couldn't score, and you can't give them an inch.
"But we're not letting one game ruin what's happened over the season.
"Our chairman Frank Gainsborough set up a five year plan and year two was making the play-offs so we're bang on target.
"We've got to do a little bit of work off the court for next season but there's fantastic support for the club in the community and there's a lot more business interest in what we're doing now."
