Bennett refuses Brighton excuses

Brighton winger Elliott Bennett says the club's injury worries are no excuse for just one win from seven games.

The Seagulls have recently lost defender Jim McNulty and Jake Wright to ankle injuries.

Bennett told BBC Sussex: "Teams get injuries throughout the year and you've got to deal with that.

"It doesn't matter what your stadium is like or how much money you've got or anything like that. It's 11 men playing against 11 men."

The Albion have homes games against mid-table Oldham and Hartlepool before a tough spell including trips to Norwich and Southampton and home games against promotion hopefuls Leeds and Charlton.

"Everyone knows about the big four clubs but there's no reason why us as a set of players can't go out there and beat them.

"Hopefully when we do come to play those games we've come off the back of two home wins and can pick up points against them," Bennett added.
