Transfer embargo imposed on Bournemouth will remain
Bournemouth went into administration in February 2008
Bournemouth's latest attempt to ease the transfer ban imposed on them by the Football League has failed.
The ban was put in place nearly a year ago but the club's improving financial situation had given them hope.
Chairman Eddie Mitchell told BBC Radio Solent: "We didn't expect the ban to be lifted so we could trade as normal, but just to make the squad up to 20.
"It was just to loan one player as we're only 19 due to injuries. We felt we might have got some leniency."
Mitchell added: "But the (Football) League still has concerns over financial situations which we're readily reducing. But obviously we can only go at the speed we can.
"We've cleared an awful lot of debt so far and we're making inroads into what's left.
"But until such time as it's all gone, it looks as though we're not allowed to do anything at all," he said.
"My expectations were though that we could have got one loan player in."
Bournemouth have so far been allowed to bring in two emergency loan players in winger Anthony Edgar and goalkeeper Marek Stech, both from West Ham.
