Former Manchester City and Darlington winger Carlos Logan is set to be offered a deal with Barrow.
The 22-year-old trialist impressed during Saturday's 2-1 friendly win over Accrington Stanley at Holker Street.
"I was very impressed with him, he offers us something different," manager Dave Bayliss told BBC Radio Cumbria.
"We will have a chat with him and see where we go from here. Hopefully he will be involved against Oxford but that's up to him."
Logan began his career as a trainee with Manchester City and made six appearances on-loan at Chesterfield before making a permanent switch to Darlington in August 2005.
Logan had a chance in the Football League so maybe he can see this as a second chance for him and can rebuild his career with Barrow

The left-winger made over 40 appearances for The Quakers before joining Bradford City for a brief loan spell during the 2006-2007 season.
The player joined Altrincham following his release by Darlington in August 2007 but left Moss Lane in February of this year.
"He has a tremendous amount of energy and one thing he does is distract defenders," Bayliss added.
"At times Accrington were putting two players on him. You can see he has ability but he needs to work on his fitness.

The Bluebirds warmed-up for their Blue Square Premier opener against Oxford United on Friday, 8 August with an impressive 2-1 win against a strong Accrington line-up with striker Jason Walker scoring twice.
It was Barrow's second league scalp in the space of four days following their 3-1 win against Oldham Athletic.
