Barnsley defender Jay McEveley has been sidelined for up to four months after undergoing knee surgery.

A scan found the Scotland full-back, 24, suffered medial ligament damage during Tuesday's defeat at Burnley.

Manager Mark Robins told the club website: "We are probably looking at between three and four months. It is a big blow for us."

Robins completed a one-month emergency loan deal for Wolves defender Matt Hill on Wednesday.
