Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires says he will not leave Highbury in January and wants to stay at the club beyond the end of the season. The 32-year-old is out of contract in the summer and can talk to other clubs in January about a free transfer.
But he told The Sun: "I won't be leaving before the end of the season and very much want to stay beyond that.
"I'll talk to the club again in January but all I'm thinking about is winning something with Arsenal this season."
The Frenchman has been offered a 12-month extension to his current deal, but is holding out for a two-year agreement.
He was linked with moves to Turkish club Galatasaray and Italian giants Juventus in the summer.
