Robert Pires will wait until January before deciding on his Arsenal future. The Frenchman's contract runs out next summer and while he had been hoping for a new two-year deal at Highbury he has only been offered a 12-month extension.
"We'll talk again in January. There is nothing new about my contract situation and things are not going to change now.
"I'm going to play through the last year of my contract and I'll meet with manager Arsene Wenger early in the New Year," said the 32-year-old midfielder.
"That will be the source of motivation for me in the months before then.
"I'm going to be in the same position as Dennis Bergkamp has been in for some years."
Pires has been at the Gunners since July 2000 and is a key component of Wenger's squad, despite being bracketed alongside Bergkamp as a veteran.
He has been linked with moves to Juventus and Galatasaray who have been monitoring his ongoing contract talks over the course of the summer.
