New Aldershot Town signing Jermaine McGlashan is aiming to work hard to reward manager Kevin Dillon for giving him his first professional contract.
The 22-year-old winger started his career with Staines Town and spent last season with Ashford Town (Middlesex).
He told BBC Surrey: "He offered me my first contract and I wasn't turning down the chance to play full-time.
"I just want to get my head down, keep working hard and get focused to repay the manager."
He added: "It's my first chance to go pro and I'm just enjoying my time here. It's all happened very fast.

"I've been learning a lot in training even though it's only been a week."
McGlashan has set his sights on gaining a place in the Shots first team.
"I feel I can come in and do a job however I'm used, whether as an impact sub or starting. But I'll work my way in."
