Collymore has 93 wickets in Test match cricket for the West Indies

Corey Collymore took six wickets as Division Two leaders Sussex delivered a crushing defeat on Leicestershire by an innings and 19 runs inside three days.

After a rain-delayed start Leicestershire, who began on 59-4, lost their final six wickets for 97 runs.

Collymore claimed four victims to finish with 6-48 - his best figures since joining Sussex in 2008.

Only Jacques du Toit offered any resistance for Leicestershire, plundering 81 off 83 balls.

Tom New was the first Leicestershire batsman of the day to fall as Lewis Hatchett removed his stumps with a superb inswinger.

But the home side rallied from that setback as Du Toit crashed 50 off 52 balls and constructed a half-century partnership with Wayne White to take them to 115-6 at lunch.

Any hopes of a sustained revival were destroyed by the introduction of Collymore who removed Du Toit and Claude Henderson in the same over with swinging balls which were edged to Michael Yardy at first slip.

He then had Nadeem Malik dropped twice in the same over before seeing him off leg before wicket.

Monty Panesar hastened Leicestershire's demise by dismissing White who was stumped by Ben Brown.

Matthew Hoggard then edged Collymore to Yardy to complete an emphatic win for Sussex.
