Little spent a year in the Premier League with Portsmouth
Aldershot Town midfielder Glen Little believes the club can push for promotion to League One after a successful pre-season.
The Shots have won all four of their friendlies so far, scoring 16 goals without conceding.
He told BBC Surrey: "From what I've seen so far I'd be very disappointed if we had a season where nothing happens.
"I'm expecting us to be challenging. It happened last season and I don't see why it can't happen again."
He added: "I'd like to think I've come here because we've got a chance of winning promotion."
The 34-year-old, who joined Aldershot following his release from Sheffield United, says he has settled in well with the squad after spending time on trial before signing his deal.
"You're still getting to know each other and getting on the same wavelength but the training has been good and it's gone pretty well," he said.
"They're a good bunch here. I've come straight in and I feel like I've been here years."
