Herd joined Aldershot in the summer after four years with Shrewsbury
Aldershot Town defender Ben Herd admits he is frustrated by the club's fluctuating form.
Their bid to make the play-offs in League Two has faltered after only two wins since the turn of the year.
Herd told BBC Surrey: "We just need to strike a happy medium and see some games out. We need to nick points here and there.
"These opportunities don't come around too often. All is not lost but it's very frustrating."
He added: "You win your home games and you get in the play-offs, simple as that. Especially this year, it's a real chance to make progress and climb the league."
Herd played in the play-offs for former club Shrewsbury twice.
"We just need to see out games and not get caught on the sucker punch," he said.
Aldershot were 2-0 up in their last home game against Dagenham and Redbridge but were beaten 3-2.
