Taylor won his 15th world title at the Alexandra Palace in January |
Phil Taylor defeated reigning Premier League champion James Wade 8-3 in Belfast to maintain his unbeaten record in the 2010 competition. Having previously beaten Simon Whitlock and Ronnie Baxter, Taylor produced his best display of the league to beat the world number two from Aldershot. "I'm over the moon to have won three from three," said Stoke's Taylor, who averaged 104 in his match against Wade. "I'm getting back to my best after the virus I had at the start." Taylor, the current world champion, faces Raymond van Barneveld in Exeter in the next round of matches on 4 March. The Dutchman was beaten for the second consecutive match on Thursday, losing 8-5 to Australia's Simon Whitlock. Terry Jenkins narrowly got the better of Stoke-on-Trent's Adrian Lewis, while Ronnie Baxter beat Mervyn King by the same 8-6 scoreline.
