New Aldershot signing Ben Herd admits he is relieved to have secured a club for the forthcoming season.
The 24-year-old defender was released by Shrewsbury after four years in Shropshire earlier this summer and joined the Shots in late July.
He told BBC Surrey: "It was a worrying time but the gaffer here [Gary Waddock] has been first class.
"I'm looking forward to the two years and hopefully as a club we can do something," he added.
