Ex-Aldershot goalkeeper Nikki Bull is surprised former boss Terry Brown has not been given a Football League job.

The 28-year-old Brentford keeper became an ever-present for the Shots under Brown who is now manager at Blue Square Premier side AFC Wimbledon.

He told BBC Surrey: "I can't believe he's not been linked with a league job or got a league job.

"If I was a Football League chairman and looked at his record, I'd think why not give him a chance?"

Brown signed Bull for Aldershot in 2002 and the 28-year-old went on to help the club win promotion to the Football League.

Bull said: "It always amazes me that there seems to be a managerial merry-go-round. Every time a league job comes up it's the same dozen names in the hat every time.

"There's managers out there that have had seven, eight, nine attempts with league clubs, they've failed, but they get another job.

"Then you've got someone like Terry Brown who over the last eight or nine years, if you look at his record, he was within a whisper of getting Hayes into the Football League on a budget that people wouldn't believe.

"He came to Aldershot, got promotion and just missed out on the Football League and then there's the job he's done at AFC Wimbledon."

Bull also had praise for goalkeeping coach Paul Priddy who left Aldershot last week.

He said: "What a good job he's done at the club. You look at way back when the club formed, he gave his time for nothing and over the years he's worked with a number of goalkeepers.

"It doesn't matter how many games those goalkeepers played for the club, those goalkeepers were better when they left the club than when they joined.

"Prids always made sure he was at the end of the phone for you morning, day or night, and he was just a great help. He managed and coached very well."
