Aldershot have signed Bristol City striker Marlon Jackson on a one-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old, who had a loan spell at League Two rivals Hereford earlier this season, is Kevin Dillon's first signing as Shots boss.

He was signed as a result of the Player Transfer Fund, which helps to fund transfers and then may receive percentages of transfer fees.

The Shots are hoping to sign another player before Thursday's loan deadline.

Dillon said: "We have a small squad at the club and we are looking to bring in two players before Thursday's deadline with Marlon being the first arrival. It is important to strengthen the squad.

"I like to have forwards available and have some fire power too. You have to have competition for places all the time to ensure that players don't rest on their laurels."
