Masters replaces Bull for Shots

Aldershot Town

Aldershot have signed Southend goalkeeper Clark Masters on a one-year deal just days after the departure of long-serving Nikki Bull.

The 22-year-old stands at 6ft 3in and began his trade at Brentford before spells at Slough, AFC Wimbledon, Luton and Stevenage Borough.

Shots manager Gary Waddock told BBC Surrey: "He is someone that wants to work hard and improve his game.

"We can hopefully give him the opportunity to do that."

"In the situation we needed to bring another keeper in, I'm pleased to have Clark on board."

Mikhael Jaimez Ruiz has done extremely well so both lads will be competing for the number one jersey, they can battle it out

Gary Waddock

Waddock was full of praise for outbound keeper Bull and said: "He's been fantastic for this club, he's done extremely well for me since I've been in charge, been a big player since I've been here and before I got here and I'd like to wish him all the best.

"From where I am it seems all parties are happy with it, all I will talk regarding Bully is how well he did for me."

Masters joins Shots reserve keeper Mikhael Jaimez Ruiz who was deputy for Bull in the past.

Waddock said: "Mikkel has done extremely well so both lads will be competing for the number one jersey, they can battle it out.

"They are two young goalkeepers who work extremely hard so they'll push one another and we'll get the best out of both of them."
