John Coleman has overseen 503 games as manager of Accrington
Accrington Stanley directors will discuss a new long-term contract for manager John Coleman during a board meeting next week.
Coleman is the longest-serving boss in the club's history after taking over at the Crown Ground in 1999.
Chief executive Rob Heys told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We should have got it sorted last season.
"In terms of the board we're all fully behind John and all of the supporters are," he added.
Coleman has led Accrington to three promotions during his 11 years in charge, winning the Conference title in 2006.
Despite working under difficult circumstances last season, including a winding-up order and transfer embargo, he steered his team to 15th in League Two.
Heys said: "He's very much a part of the furniture. He understands the working of the club and it isn't through a lack of desire to keep him at the club that we haven't agreed the contract.
"It's very important we resolve the issue when he returns to work on Monday morning."
Coleman and his players will report back for pre-season training with another transfer embargo hanging over the club due to Stanley not yet filing its yearly accounts.
"With all the changes that have gone on behind the scenes, including a takeover, our 2009 accounts are a little bit behind," said Heys.
"After speaking to our accountants we should have them ready to present within the next two weeks.
"We can still fill in the paper work for signing players. They are just not able to play football in a competitive game for us."
