Barry clinch league title
Barry Town have been crowned League of Wales champions for the sixth time in seven years.

A comfortable 2-0 win at Oswestry and Bangor's 1-0 defeat at Afan Lido handed Barry the title with a game to spare.

Player-manager Kenny Brown, who only took over at Jenner Park last October, said his team were worthy winners.

"We've been on a good run recently," Brown said. "We've been to some difficult places and secured the right results while winning most of our home games.

"It's been very pleasing and now the players can reap the rewards by playing in the Champions League next season."

Decisive

Jamie Moralee opened the scoring from the penalty spot after 30 minutes.

The defending champions were denied several more by some fine saves by Daniel Embelton in the Afan Lido goal.

But the second and decisive goal arrived after 55 minutes from a 20-yard shot from Mike Flynn which Embelton should really have saved.

Bangor City's brave title challenge was finally laid to rest by a disappointing performance at Afan Lido.

Their team coach broke down on the way down from the north, and the players never quite found top gear after the delayed kick-off.

Chris Pridham scored the only goal of the game after nine minutes of the second half.

The win secures their place in next season's Premier Cup.

Bangor now only have a one point advantage over third place TNS after they put four past Cwmbran.

Safety

At the other end of the table, Rhayader's 5-0 trouncing by Carmarthen condemned Meirion Appleton's men to the drop.

A goal in the final minute by Andy Moran gave Rhyl a 2-1 win over Caernarfon Town and they now look favourites to finish in fourth place and represent Wales in the Intertoto Cup.

Anthony Wright scored both goals in Aberystwyth's 2-0 win over Connah's Quay Nomads and Mark Dickeson's goal gave Llanelli a 1-0 win at Flexsys Cefn Druids and ensured safety for Peter Nicholas' side.

Port Talbot won 2-1 at Caernarfon.
