Coleraine are beaten 2-0 at The Showgrounds by two goals from Glenavon's Mark Miskimmin
Mark Miskimmin's double ensured a happy return to the Coleraine Showgrounds for Glenavon boss Marty Quinn.
Stuart King and Kyle Neill both tested Davy O'Hare early on before Miskimmin headed Glenavon into the lead after a James Costello cross.
Glenavon keeper Andy Plummer made a double save to deny David Scullion and Gareth Harkin before Miskimmin scored his second after an O'Hare mistake.
Miskimmin missed a further second-half chance but Glenavon had done enough.
Coleraine started without Kyle McVey and Darren Boyce with summer signings Johnny Harkness and David Scullion earning starts for David Platt's side.
Miskimmin made his competitive debut for Glenavon after his recent move from Linfield.
Glenavon produced the better start with both King and Neill testing Bannsiders keeper O'Hare early on.
Miskimmin notched his opening goal in the 33rd minute as he cleverly stooped to head Costello's right-wing cross past O'Hare.
At the other end of the field, Plummer produced a superb double-save to keep Glenavon ahead by denying Scullion and Harkin in quick succession.
The value of those saves was demonstrated when Miskimmin lashed in his second goal a minute before the break after O'Hare had spilled Neill's free-kick.
Miskimmin should have made it 3-0 early in the second half but it didn't prove important as Coleraine failed to summon up any sort of revival.
