Derry City ended their recent losing streak with a 2-0 win away to St Patrick's Athletic in the League of Ireland Premier Division at Inchicore.
Gareth McGlynn took advantage of poor defending to shoot home the opener in the ninth minute and David McDaid bundled over the second on 56 minutes.
The victory will lift morale at the Brandywell club and enhance their chances of European qualification.
Pat's now face the prospect of a play-off to retain Premier Division status.
