Derry City missed out on a chance to go third in the League of Ireland Premier Division when they lost away to Galway.
City went into the lead in the 26th minute through a superb strike by Gareth McGlynn.
But Cian McBrien drilled his shot through several defenders to equalise on 38 minutes and soon afterwards Aaron Greene put United into the lead.
Derry had defender Clive Delaney sent-off early in the second half and home sub Jason Molloy scored in injury-time.
It was Derry's fourth defeat in a row, a run during which Stephen Kenny's side have scored just once.
Victory would have taken them above third-placed Cork in the race for Europe.
Cork lost 2-0 at home to champions Bohemians on Friday but the Bohs remain two points behind leaders Shamrock Rovers who beat Bray Wanderers 2-0.
Derry will be bitterly disappointed to have come away from Galway empty-handed after McGlynn's sublime opener.
He let fly after Tam McManus's right-wing cross had been headed out by the home defence.
Derry had a warning when young striker Vinny Faherty saw an effort strike the top of the crossbar.
Then came O'Brien's equaliser, followed three minutes later by Greene shooting in unmarked.
Delaney, who had already been booked, was shown a straight red card five minutes into the second half.
The central defender was the last man when he tripped O'Brien who would have been in on goal.
In stoppage-time substitute Molloy pounced on a mistake by Derry's Peter Hutton to run through and net Galway's third.
