Thomas Stewart's second-half penalty secured a 1-1 draw for Derry City in their Eircom Premier League tussle with Sligo Rovers at the Brandywell.
City dominated early in the game but Rovers took a 31st minute lead when former Derry player Conor O'Grady chipped the ball over Darren Quigley.
Billy Dennehy, Ciaran Martyn and Stewart went close before Derry scored a deserved equaliser on 65 minutes.
Martyn was fouled by Brian Cash and Stewart converted from 12 yards.
Candystripes boss Stephen Kenny made eight changes from the side that beat Cork City in the FAI Ford Cup quarter-final replay on Tuesday night.
Stewart almost won it for Derry when his 78th minute shot was brilliantly saved by Brush.
The Sligo keeper also made two fine late saves from Stewart and substitute Niall McGinn.
Elsewhere, leaders Bohemians beat Bray Wanderers 2-1 to close in on the title.
Finn Harps lost 1-0 at home to St Pat's Athletic, Galway defeated Cork City 3-1 and UCD claimed a 1-0 home win over Drogheda United.
