Two goals from Chris Scannell helped Cliftonville get their CIS Cup campaign off to a winning start at Solitude. The striker grabbed his first after 14 minutes when he fired home unmarked past Glenn Miller from six yards out and Mark Holland also shot over.
The Reds continued to dominate and Scannell made it 2-0 by firing in from a Francis Murphy cross on 69 minutes.
John Martin and Ryan Catney both made their competitive debuts for the Reds after moving from Lisburn Distillery.
