 | CREST CO ANTRIM SHIELD |
A Darren Lockhart strike in the second minute of extra-time edged Glentoran through to the semi-finals of the Crest Co Antrim Shield at the Oval. Roy Coyle's side were two-up against Lisburn Distillery with Chris Morgan and Shaun Holmes on target.
However, Sean Armstrong twice struck for the Whites, the second from the penalty spot to level the game.
The game went into extra-time and it was Lockhart's shot from around the penalty spot that won the day.
The Glens went ahead in the 26th minute when Morgan found himself unmarked and steered home a pass from Gavin Mealough past Philip Matthews.
Holmes made it two in the 32nd minute when he squeezed the ball in at the far post after a deep cross from Peter McCann.
But the game turned in the 56th minute when Armstrong blasted in a superb volley from 25 yards in the 56th minute.
Four minutes later, the Whites were level when Elliott Morris pulled down Darren Armour and Armstrong scored from the spot.
Armstrong could have been the hat-trick hero only for Morris to turn aside a goal-bound shot in injury.
