Tommy Wright's side returned to winning ways |
A 59th minute strike from Andrew Rosbotham saw Ballymena take a deserved win over Paul Kirk's side on Saturday. Rosbotham slammed the ball into the corner of the net after Rory Hamill fed him the ball after a driving run.
United's William McFrederick saved from a Sean Armstrong header and Nigel Boyd's miscued header early on.
Vincent Sweeney was twice off target for the home side and Michael Dougherty denied Garth Scates and Boyd. Scates and Sweeney had second half chances.
Scates shot over the bar while Dougherty saved from Sweeney, who had shot wide and headed over with his first half efforts.
Francis Murphy was unable to convert the Whites' only second half chance.
