Lee Patrick scored two goals for Limavady in their league victory |
A Lee Patrick brace helped Limavady to an impressive Carnegie Premier League victory at the Showgrounds. Ballymena took a 31st minute lead when Rory Hammill found Vincent Sweeney and former Limavady player blasted home.
Patrick slotted in the equaliser seven minutes later after keeper William McFredrick dropped the ball.
The striker's 18-yard strike just before the break made it 2-1 and Mark McGuinness sealed the win with a 67th minute shot into the bottom corner.
The Sky Blues pressed in the second half but they failed to find the net through a combination of poor finishing and goal-line clearances.
The three points take Limavady up two places to 12th while Ballymena have slipped into the bottom half of the table.
