Crusaders bowed out of the Crest Co Antrim Shield when Larne defeated the First Division Side with a goal in each half at Seaview. Stephen Baxter's outfit, playing a senior side for the first time since relegation, showed guts before going behind to a Gary McCutcheon goal.
Larne went two-up in the 72nd minute with a Mark Dickson free kick.
But the Crues made a fight of it after James Quigley was red-carded with Davy Rainey notching a goal near the end.
The Crues, who have a Steel & Sons final to look forward to, were thwarted in their final attempt of pulling the game out of the fire.
It only took seven minutes before Larne broke the deadlock when McCutcheon ran in on a Mark Dickson cross to fire home from six yards out.
Dickson's goal was of high calibre when he curled home a beautiful 25-yard free-kick into the top corner in the 72 minute.
It looked over and out for the Crues before Quigley received an early bath after a late tackle, and Rainey made Larne sweat when he dived in to head home seven minutes from the end.

It was fairly dour stuff in between before Dickson produced a superb effort in the 72nd minute when he curled in a 20-yard free-kick into the top corner.
