Glentoran were knocked off the top of the Irish Premier League by Keith O'Hara's late winner for Portadown in a dramatic action-packed game. O'Hara's goal meant Ronnie McFall's side completed a league double over the Glens, having beaten them 2-1 at the Oval on the first day of the campaign.
Glentoran, who were two up early on, scored through Michael Halliday, Chris Morgan and Shaun Holmes.
Vinny Arkins and Marc McCann (2) got the other Portadown goals.
It ended a run Glentoran's run of 13 league matches unbeaten and puts the title race in a completely new light, Roy Coyle's men having enjoyed a six-point lead just a week earlier.
A Glentoran defeat looked unlikely as they raced into a two-goal lead.
The opener came on 11 minutes as Michael Collins lost possession, allowing Halliday to take the ball forward and beat Ports keeper David Miskelly with a fine finish from 20 yards.
When Morgan headed in number two from close-range on 28 minutes following Halliday's centre it looked like there was no stopping the leaders.
But Portadown got into the contest on 34 minutes with a goal from Arkins who headed in after Wesley Boyle's shot had come off the crossbar.
Holmes restored Glentoran's two-advantage with a superb 25-yard shot which flew past Miskelly.
Marc McCann got the fifth goal of pulsating first half as his shot was deflected off Sean Ward to beat keeper Elliott Morris.
McCann then levelled the contest on 72 minutes, cutting in from the left to shoot into the corner of the net before O'Hara sensationally shot Portadown in front with just two minutes left.
