Boston 0-0 Bristol Rovers

Boston and Bristol Rovers shared the spoils for the second time in a month at York Street.

But on a day when other strugglers in the drop zone picked up victories, a point apiece did little to improve either sides' survival prospects.

Boston had the better openings but could not convert their chances, while Rovers had reason to be unhappy when home keeper Paul Bastock was only shown a yellow card for handling the ball outside his area.

The only chance of note in the first half saw Boston's Ben Chapman drill a shot over the crossbar from 20 yards while a Wayne Carlisle shot for Rovers also drifted over the top.

Boston dominated in the second half but lacked a cutting edge.

Rovers goalkeeper Scott Howie saved well to keep out headers from Stuart Douglas and Neil Redfearn while a Douglas drive fizzed inches over the crossbar late on.

Boston Utd: Bastock, McCarthy, Hocking, Balmer, Chapman, Simon Weatherstone, Greaves, Bennett, Lee Thompson, Douglas, Logan. Subs: Conroy, Gould, Redfearn, Town, Higgins.

Bristol Rovers: Howie, Boxall, Austin, Barrett, Rose, Carlisle, Quinn, Astafjevs, Street, Gilroy, Tait. Subs: Grazioli, Bryant, Hogg, Parker, Hyde.

Referee: L Mason (Lancashire)
