| Saturday, 10 August, 2002, 16:40 GMT 17:40 UK Kidderminster 1-1 Lincoln Kidderminster Harriers blew a late chance to take three points when striker Drewe Broughton's weak penalty kick five minutes from time was saved by Lincoln keeper Alan Marriott. Bo Henrikson, who had earlier headed home Harriers' equaliser after 59 minutes from a Sean Parrish free-kick, was felled in the box by Imps defender Stuart Bimson to set up the opportunity. The incident came two minutes after Lincoln's striker Dean Cropper was sent off for his second bookable offence. Lincoln, who only came out of administration early in the week, had looked the better side in the first period. They made a dream start when Richard Logan rose to head home Paul Smith's corner after 11 minutes, despite a desperate attempt to clear on the line by Harriers defender Adie Smith. Both sides were guilty of missing good chances, though, and referee Phil Crossley, in charge of a Nationwide League game for the first time, was kept busy, booking seven players, five from Lincoln. |
