| Tuesday, 11 February, 2003, 23:25 GMT Rotherham 3-2 Bradford Rotherham's run of four consecutive home defeats ended as the Millers came from a goal behind to claim all three points against 10-man Bradford. Manager Ronnie Moore has never registered a victory over one of Nicky Laws' sides, and things looked ominous when Claus Jorgensen put the Bantams into an early lead. But United battle back bravely - and Martin McIntosh, Darren Garner and Darren Byfield's rocketed the Millers into a 3-1 lead. Andy Gray's penalty after 62 minutes gave Laws' men belief. But after City's Peter Atherton was dismissed on 88 minutes, the home side hung on to keep their outside chances of a play-off position alive. It was the visitors who began the game at a ferocious pace and were rewarded when Jorgensen gave Bradford the upper hand after two minutes. Veteran defender Wayne Jacobs floated over a delightful ball in to the penalty area which found the Danish midfielder in acres of space and he made no mistake with a crisp volley past Millers goalkeeper Mike Pollitt. The Millers restored parity after 21 minutes. Jorgensen hauled down Garner 30 yards from goal - and from the resulting free-kick the Rotherham midfielder angled a dangerous delivery into the danger area for McIntosh to glance the ball into the net. Grandstand finish The second period began in similar vein to the first as both sides continued to create chances. Nick Daws' long throw caused havoc in the penalty area, and Garner capitalised on Bradford's defensive hesitancy with a goalbound volley which took a nasty deflection away from the grasp of Aidan Davison. Worse was to come for Laws' men as Rotherham added a third on the hour mark thanks to Byfield's well-struck penalty. Robert Molenaar committed a rash challenge on the striker who dusted himself down before slotting home his 12th goal of the season. But two minutes later Bradford were right back in it after referee Tony Leake awarded a second penalty after goalscorer McIntosh brought down Ward. Andy Gray fired the spot-kick past Pollitt in to the bottom right-hand corner to set up a grandstand finish. Despite incessant Bradford pressure, Rotherham defended stoutly - and when Atherton was sent off for a second bookable offence after a foul on Stewart Talbot it signalled the end of Bradford's chances of rescuing a point.
