Dartford boss wishes Sheringham well after Bournemouth move
Sheringham joined Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee
Dartford manager Tony Burman says he is delighted for Charlie Sheringham after he joined League One side Bournemouth.
Sheringham's 12 goals has helped the Burman's third-placed side move to within one point of leaders Woking at the top of the Blue Square Bet South.
The Darts boss told BBC Radio Kent: "We are all delighted for him because he was a good player and a very intelligent footballer."
"Then again I'm disappointed that I've lost a quality player."
Burman says Dartford were first contacted about three weeks ago and Sheringham had been notified of the negotiations.
"Bournemouth's offer was reluctantly accepted but you just don't want to stand in a players way when something like that happens," he said.
Sheringham is the third player in recent years to make the step up to League football after Cody McDonald's move to Norwich and Dave Martin's switch to Crystal Palace.
"It's a credit to my coaching staff really, we've worked with the players and at the end of the day it's down to hard work," added Burman.
But the Darts boss says he will not make any rash signings with the money raised from the sale.
"I'm not going to rush into it because people think that now I've got a little bit of money I have to go out and spend," he added.
"I want to strengthen my squad but I'm in no rush to do so."
