Sheringham Bournemouth deal not done yet - Tony Burman
Sheringham has scored 12 goals for Dartford this season
Dartford manager Tony Burman says Charlie Sheringham's proposed move to Bournemouth is not a done deal.
The 23-year-old has held talks with the League One club after Dartford accepted a bid for the striker, who has scored 12 goals this season.
Burman told BBC Radio Kent: "There are one or two issues at the Bournemouth end, he hasn't signed for them yet."
But he added: "We don't want to stand in anyone's way of becoming a professional footballer."
Sheringham, the son of former England international Teddy Sheringham, has had spells at Millwall, Ipswich, Tottenham and Crystal Palace, but has never made a full football league appearance.
Burman added: "There was an offer come in, we felt we had to go public on it and tell people what happened."
Sheringham will be the third player in five years to leave Dartford for a league side. Dave Martin, now on loan at Walsall from Derby, joined Crystal Palace in 2007 and Cody McDonald, currently at Coventry, was sold to Norwich City in 2009.
Burman is convinced Sheringham will be successful if and when the deal is completed.
"He can do a job [in League One], he's been with 'pro' clubs but he's maturing. He takes a lot of criticism because of who his father i,s but he handles that so well. He's been excellent since Christmas onwards."
