Dartford boss Tony Burman hopes experience can count
Dartford manager Tony Burman is hoping that his side's higher ranking in the non-league pyramid will help them through Saturday's FA Cup date at Cray.
"Hopefully our experience in the higher league will put us in good stead," Burman told BBC Radio Kent.
Despite being one of England's oldest football clubs, Cray Wanderers have never reached the first round proper.
But Burman warns his Blue Square Bet South side that Cray will be fired up for the third qualifying round clash.
"It's a very tough game, away from home against local rivals," said Burman, whose side reached the first round last season - and go into the meeting with the Ryman Premier side just two wins away from a return to the same stage.
"It's a one-off game and they have nothing to lose, so can go a bit gung-ho.
"But, if we play like I know we are able to, I am confident we can progress to the next round. It's a special competition."
It's a bit of extra spice for everyone
Margate manager Chris Kinnear
Margate manager Chris Kinnear's men are also involved in a Kent Cup derby against Blue Square Bet South side Bromley but Kinnear is optimistic about the Ryman Premier side's chances.
The Gate have a decent record in the competition, having reached the third round twice, playing the likes of Tottenham, Fulham and Cardiff, as well as beating Leyton Orient. And Kinnear hopes that another run in the competition might reawaken memories of some special days at Hartsdown Park.
"It's a bit of extra spice for everyone," he said. "We all want to see the Cardiffs and the Leyton Orients.
"And we're going into the game with a lot of hope and expectation.
"We're playing pretty well at the moment and hopefully it's come at the right time for us."
