Daish is hoping to get Ebbsfleet promoted at the first time of asking

Ebbsfleet United will face Farnborough for a place in the Blue Square Bet Premier after their 2-1 win over Chelmsford, making it 6-2 on aggregate.

Michael West's two first-half goals cemented the Fleet's play-off final spot, with the Clarets pulling one back through Wayne Gray after the break.

The Fleet will travel to Farnborough for Sunday's play-off final.

Manager Liam Daish told BBC Radio Kent: "The lads are buzzing, it doesn't matter where it is, I'm not worried."

He continued: "I'm glad that I'm in the final, I never set out to be in the final - we hoped but I don't think everyone thought we would be.

"We've got a great away record in this league - we went out on Tuesday and beat Chelmsford at Chelmsford 4-1, so the final could be anywhere - I'm not worried."

Daish had to rebuild his squad from scratch at the beginning of the season - because of the club's financial problems.

Fleet midfielder Ram Maraw says that makes the Fleet's achievement even more remarkable.

"It's amazing to get through to the final," he said.

"At the start when I first signed there was no-one else really here so I didn't know what was happening.

"The first few games I didn't know the team but then when we got our shape together I thought we could do it.

"I think we're unlucky that we didn't have this team together right at the start - if we had - then maybe we could have pushed on to win the league."

Daish made just one change to the side that dominated at Chelmsford on Tuesday - with man-of-the-match Giannoulis Fakinos replacing the suspended Ashley Carew.

Fakinos told BBC Radio Kent: "I've only been here for a couple of months, but the lads have put in such an effort to get the team in this place.

"This squad and this atmosphere doesn't belong to this league - it belongs to at least the league above."
