Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish wants Kent Senior Cup rethink
Daish has been in charge at Ebbsfleet for almost six years
Ebbsfleet boss Liam Daish says the Kent Football Association are devaluing the Kent Senior Cup because of the way they schedule games.
Fleet had to play their quarter-final tie against Bromley on Thursday, meaning they faced a run of three games in five days.
As a result, Daish fielded a weakened side and saw his men lose 2-0.
"It's rubbish, the fixture congestion has been no fault of our own," he told BBC Radio Kent.
The last eight tie came sandwiched between Blue Square Bet South games against Welling and Bishop's Stortford.
"The Kent FA have allowed games to be cancelled without pitch inspections, games to be moved because the manager doesn't want to play it because he's just come into the club," added Daish.
"Then we're told we've got to play on a Thursday to make it easier for the FA. They are devaluing their own competition."
Daish says he and many other local managers would prefer the competition to take place during pre-season.
He said: "The pitches will be good, people will come back looking forward to watching some football .
"It would be competitive - so why not do that?"
Kent FA chief executive Paul Dolan said: "Obviously we had some pretty horrendous weather earlier in the winter which didn't help.
"What I'll be looking to do next season is moving round one forward so the games are played by the end of September or beginning of October."
