Gainsborough focused on avoiding drop - Brian Little

Gainsborough Trinity

Gainsborough boss Brian Little says his side are focused on avoiding relegation from the Blue Square Bet North after losing 2-0 to Worcester.

Saturday's defeat at the Northolme was Trinity's sixth in a row and leaves them three points above the bottom two.

Little told BBC Lincolnshire: "We know what we have to do, we're not enjoying it and we're not happy but we're now focused on staying in the division.

"If it's the last kick of the season that keeps us up, we've done our job."

Trinity had the lion's share of the first-half possession, but went behind two minutes before the break when Danny Glover fired home after Blues keeper Phil Barnes dropped a cross.

In the second half, Leon Mettam and Gavin Cowan went close to equalising but the visitors extended their lead on 81 minutes when Mark McGregor netted from the penalty spot after a foul by Neal Spafford.

Little said: "It's hard to believe we lost 2-0. They had two chances for the two goals, one a mistake and the other a penalty.

"I didn't think they were any better than us but nothing's going for us at the minute. We should have had a point at least. The effort and commitment was there if perhaps not the belief."
