Truro boss Lee Hodges staying calm after Salisbury win
Hodges made more than 200 appearances for Plymouth Argyle
Truro City boss Lee Hodges says his side must not get ahead of themselves following their emphatic win over title rivals Salisbury.
The Tigers thrashed the Whites 6-0 to return to the top of the Southern Premier League standings.
Hodges told BBC Cornwall: "It's hard to praise one individual tonight because I think everyone was on it.
"It was a fantastic night, but when you look at it it's only three points, nothing more than that."
Former Plymouth Argyle striker Barry Hayles was the catalyst for Truro's win, netting a hat-trick for the visitors at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.
Hodges said: "The way Barry Hayles has been playing for us this season he deserves to get a hat-trick.
"I'm also really pleased for Les (Afful) to come on and score a couple of goals himself.
"We had to win the game more than Salisbury. They were not at the top of the league for nothing - they're unbeaten at home all season so it was us who had to come here and win the game."
Although the victory returns Truro to the top of the league, they only have a one-point advantage over Salisbury, who crucially have two games in hand.
The Tigers' next league match is away against Stourbridge on Saturday, while Salisbury are not in action again until 1 March when they host Tiverton Town.
