Joint boss Rob Scott praises Boston United resilience

Boston United joint-manager Rob Scott praised his side's spirit after they won 5-3 at Workington in the Blue Square Bet North on Saturday.

The Pilgrims let a 2-0 lead slip as the hosts made it 3-2 before three goals in the last 15 minutes won it for Boston.

Scott told BBC Lincolnshire: "For an hour we were excellent but for the other half-hour we weren't.

"We made it so difficult for ourselves but credit to the players because they kept plugging away."

Boston had looked comfortable as Adam Boyes' brace made it 2-0 after 33 minutes.

But within five minutes Workington had levelled through Nick Rogan and Anthony Wright, and shell-shocked Boston went behind to David Hewson's 50th-minute header.

Marc Newsham equalised from the penalty spot on 75 minutes and four minutes later put the Pilgrims back in front, with Ryan Semple adding the fifth in the 90th minute.

Scott said: "We were massively in the ascendancy at 2-0 but we ended the first half poorly and we started the second half poorly. You can't give teams chances like we did."
