Boston United swoop for Trinity's Williams & Robinson
Williams made more than 100 Premier League appearances with Sunderland
Boston United have signed defenders Darren Williams and Mark Robinson on month-long loans from Blue Square Bet North rivals Gainsborough Trinity.
Both made their Pilgrims debuts in Tuesday's 3-1 defeat by Stalybridge.
The signings follow the exit of Shane Clarke, who has been offered a trial with a Major League Soccer side in the United States.
Loan man Rory Coleman has returned to Scunthorpe, while keeper Aaron Butcher has had his contract cancelled.
Williams, 33, played more than 100 Premier League games for Sunderland, where he spent eight seasons, while 29-year-old Robinson's former clubs include Hartlepool, Stockport and Torquay.
Joint manager Paul Hurst told BBC Lincolnshire: "With injuries and players leaving, we felt it was a good chance to bring in some experience.
"They know the game and they know this level and I'm sure they'll fit in."
