Boston United have parted company with midfielder Shane Clarke after he was offered a trial with a Major League Soccer side in the United States.
Joint-manager Rob Scott told BBC Lincolnshire: "It's unfortunate for us but he's on non-contract terms so we're not going to stand in his way.
"Shane wants to be a pro footballer and it's a great opportunity for him."
Clarke, 23, who played 11 times for the Pilgrims, began his career at Lincoln City - making 74 appearances.
He also made a single appearance for Gateshead in the Blue Square Bet Premier division this season.
